Dewsall Court Wedding Film

This was our first time filming a wedding at the beautiful Dewsall Court and we would love to return again one day!

Steph and Tim had exclusive use of this beautiful country house and when I asked Steph and Tim what it was that appealed to them about Dewsall Court they said ‘it was amazing and we loved it because it had the church on the grounds which meant we didn’t have to travel anywhere and the Wainhouse fitted the relaxed, country feel we were looking for. The venue was also available from the Friday through to Sunday for just us and accommodated all our wedding party. It was a blank canvas too so we could really do what we wanted with it!’

Steph wore a Jenny Packham dress which she bought from Carina Baverstock Couture, the bridesmaid dresses were from Ted Baker and Tim’s suit was from Austin Reed.

The gorgeous flowers were provided by Love Lily and Steph told me ‘Emma from Love Lily was amazing! She knew the style we were going for. I had mentioned shabby chic and that I didn’t want anything matching and she did the rest!’

I asked Steph and Tim what the best moment of their day was and they happily said ‘the party!! Once all the formal side was over and getting to celebrate into the early hours with all our family and friends! Tim and I couldn’t stop smiling!’

Their advice for future brides and grooms is to ‘enjoy it and let people help! Tim and I were moving countries and out of our flat at the same time so we were so grateful for all the help we could get. Our biggest recommendation though is to get a videographer as it captures so many parts of the day you don’t even see. I had forgotten elements of the speeches that I can now replay over and over to my hearts content!!’ And of course we couldn’t agree more with the videographer comment!

So here is their wedding highlights film – we hope you enjoy watching it!

A Humanist Wedding Ceremony in Gloucestershire

Alix + Ollie’s wedding was beautiful, elegant, full of love and also included quite a few tears of joy – mainly from Ollie!

When we arrived Maria from Sorori Design Florist and Lauren Grey Wedding Stylist were hard at work in the marquees bringing Alix and Ollie’s vision alive. When speaking with Alix she said the colour theme for their wedding came to her quite quickly and when researching on Pinterest she was drawn to gold and peach ideas. Alix then went on to talk about her flowers ‘I’ve always loved orchids and my mum had hanging Singapore orchids in her bouquet so I wanted to mirror that in my wedding – our bouquets were virtually identical. The remaining flowers I left to my florist who matched them into the theme – she was amazing!”

The talented Jessica Mills created Alix’s beautiful makeup and Nando Lopez from the Richard Ward Salon in Sloane Square created her gorgeous hairstyle. I asked Alix about her beautiful wedding dress and she explained ‘my dress was bespoke – designed by myself and my mum with the help of fashion designer Melissa Antonious who is based in Cheltenham.’

We worked alongside the talented photographer Steve Richardson and Alix chose this photo below as her favourite – just look at that stunning dress!

Neither Alix nor Ollie are religious and after none of the venues they visited felt quite right, they then thought about marrying in the family home. Alix explained ‘the logistics of making it legal were too difficult so we decided on a humanist ceremony – they are legal in Scotland and all my Scottish cousins had them and I loved them. So the decision was made that we marry legally a few days before in a registry office and then have a Humanist ceremony in the garden – it worked perfectly for us. We kept the registry office bit really simple – just legal statements and signing of the register so as to take away from the main wedding.’ It was the first humanist wedding we have had the honor of being a part of and we really noticed how personal it was to Alix and Ollie. Their Humanist celebrant Zena Birch gave a very personal and friendly service for them and it’s her voice that features in the beginning of our film.

I asked Alix what advice she would give to future brides and she offered ‘to take the time and enjoy the planning because although it can be stressful you do miss it once it’s over.’ Alix went on to say ‘plan the small things well but don’t worry about it on the day as nobody notices!’

When asked what the best things are about having a wedding film Alix explained ‘re-living the day, watching parts of the day you missed and seeing everyone again on film. After watching my own film I think it would be just awful not to have one!!’

We really enjoyed playing a part in Alix and Ollie’s wedding day and we’re delighted to share their wedding highlights film with you..enjoy!

Inspirational styled shoot filmed at Old Down Manor

Its been a busy month at Vogue Wedding Films HQ and we’ve been enjoying every minute of it! We were recently invited to be part of a styled shoot by the Love Me Love My Wedding blog – which for all you brides-to-be is a fabulous blog to get inspiration and ideas from.

The styled shoot was for So Sassi which is a new label from Sassi Holford which targets stylish young brides. The dresses are breathtaking and it made me want to get married all over again (to the same person of course!).

We worked alongside the very talented and super friendly MvAvoy Wedding Photography who captured lots of beautiful shots on the day, some of which can be viewed here on the Love Me Love My Wedding blog post.

It was a busy day full of wedding loveliness and the results are 3 short films, the first of which is being shown today and its from the shoot theme called the ‘Rapunzel’.

The first dress used in the Rapunzel film is called ‘Bobbie’ which has a gorgeous tulle rose appliqué finished with a ribbon belt and long, flowing tails. It really is beautiful.

The second dress used in the Rapunzel film is called ‘Bonnie’. This is a pretty floral lace tea length dress transformed by a tulle overlay with lace trim that creates cap sleeves, a V back and a dipped hem. Another gorgeous dress from the collection.

The two beautiful shots above come together with the help of the following creative and talented suppliers who were part of an even larger team on the the day: Jessie Thomson Wedding & EventsThings By LauraStephanie Saunders Floral DesignMakeup By Vanessa and Anna White Make Up & Hair. All of the suppliers involved in the Rapunzel shoot are credited at the end of the film so if you see something you like, you will be able to contact the supplier.

So please sit back and enjoy the first of our So Sassi styled shoot films – Rapunzel.

Pena National Palace is positioned on top of a hill high above the town of Sintra in Portugal. It’s not hard to see why Elizabeth and Ben chose this venue and location for their wedding – it’s absolutely stunning. In fact, this wedding was one of the first to be held at Pena Palace and I’m sure there will be many more in years to come.

I arrived in Sintra a couple of days before the wedding to allow time to familiarise myself with the locations I was required to shoot. Elizabeth and Ben had already flown in from America and as family and friends began to arrive from all over the world, the wedding excitement was building.

On the wedding day, I headed over to the house where Elizabeth, her bridesmaids and family were getting ready. The intricate detail on their Sarees was beautiful and the Elizabeth’s bouquet included jewels from within the family – I have never seen such a unique bouquet and it all made for some great camera shots.

The wedding ceremony took place in a traditional Portuguese style church with about 80 family and friends alongside them. From there everyone made their way to the awe-inspiring Pena National Palace. It was a beautiful clear afternoon, so guests were treated to some fantastic views over the surrounding area. The drinks started flowing, the flamenco dancer and guitarist started playing and the atmosphere was one of happiness and delight. Guests were invited to take a tour of the Palace which was a really nice gesture considering its one of the most visited sites in Portugal.

After the food and speeches, it was time for some dancing outside on one of the Palace turrets where Elizabeth’s second Saree glistened beautifully in the lights.

All in all this was an amazing wedding to film and I would like to thank Elizabeth and Ben for inviting me to play a small part of their magical wedding.
